Cedar Creek Closing January 15th for Renovation

Established in 1989, Cedar Creek Golf Course has been a fixture in the San Antonio golfing community, capturing the hearts of golfers with its scenic and challenging layout. To elevate the golfing experience, the course is set to undergo a remarkable facelift beginning Monday, January 15, 2024, marking the first major renovation since its inception.
Key highlights of the renovation include:
Regrassing: The entire course will be transformed with the introduction of the cutting-edge Latitude 36 Bermudagrass (used at Olmos Basin, and Riverside). Known for its exceptional playability and resilience, this grass variety promises to enhance the overall quality of the playing surface.
Bunker Revitalization: The bunkers will be rebuilt using the state-of-the-art Better Billy Bunker drainage system. This innovative technology ensures optimal water drainage, minimizing maintenance challenges and providing golfers with consistently superb playing conditions.
Fairway Slope Reshaping: Careful attention will be given to reshaping fairway slopes, adding strategic nuances to the course design. This enhancement aims to provide golfers with a more dynamic and enjoyable playing experience.
Greens Enlargement: Greens will be replanted and enlarged to their original size specifications. This will allow for more pin placements and increase the variety of challenges for golfers. This change should create a more enjoyable, and faster round of golf.
Clubhouse Refresh: The clubhouse will undergo a refresh to provide a modern and inviting atmosphere for golfers and visitors. This update includes aesthetic improvements, and enhanced amenities, including updated restrooms
Cart Path Renovation: The cart paths will have some rerouting with permanent curbing installed to protect the course and make for easier entrance and exits from the fairways.
As a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit organization, the Alamo City Golf Trail emphasizes that no taxpayer funds will be utilized for the Cedar Creek renovation project. This project serves as a clear demonstration of our dedication to delivering an outstanding golfing experience for enthusiasts, ensuring affordability without reliance on public funds. The transformation is scheduled to take Nine months, with regular updates posted online.
