ACGT Rules & Regulations

THE CITY OF SAN ANTONIO’S EIGHT GOLF FACILITIES ARE MANAGED AND ARE UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF A NON-PROFIT 501 C (3) CORPORATION NAMED THE MUNICIPAL GOLF ASSOCIATION SAN ANTONIO (dba THE ALAMO CITY GOLF TRAIL or ACGT). BY THE CONTRACTUAL ARRANGEMENT, THE ACGT IS THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE EIGHT CITY OF SAN ANTONIO FACILITIES. THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE ACGT HAS ESTABLISHED THE RULES AND REGULATIONS TO PROTECT ITS FACILITIES AND AMENITIES AND TO PROMOTE THE SAFETY, HEALTH, AND WELFARE OF ITS GUESTS.

The golf course managers and superintendents (or their designated personnel), acting under the supervision of the President & CEO, are responsible for all matters relating to play on the golf courses. The course managers, the golf shop personnel, and the course rangers are empowered to enforce all golf course rules and regulations.

  1. It should be understood that guests play the golf course at their own risk. We do not require players to come in when there is a threat of lightning.
  2. Every guest is expected to have a reasonable knowledge of the game of golf before purchasing a green fee. All guests should be familiar with the rules and etiquette of golf outlined in the USGA Rules of Golf.
  3. The ACGT is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen items on golf course property and is not responsible for any injuries incurred during play.
  4. Customers wishing to communicate with the ACGT can call the corporate office or visit our website (alamocitygolftrail.com) to email us with their concerns.
  5. If a group fails to keep its place on the course and loses its position relative to its tee time, it must allow the groups behind it to play through while working to improve its position on the course (pace of play). Additionally, we encourage players to play “ready golf” by keeping pre-shot routines short, hitting provisional shots, and keeping up with the group ahead.
  6. All players must register at the golf counter before play begins. Tee times can be booked up to 7 days in advance. Golfers seeking to book from 8 to 30 days before the tee time can do so for a nominal fee through ACGT's Advanced Booking option.
  7. Walk-ups will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis. Singles and twosomes have no standing on the course and are permitted to tee off only at the discretion of the golf counter or starter. We reserve the right to prohibit any non-playing walker or rider from being on the course. Singles should not be allowed to tee off before 1:00 pm on weekends.
  8. Players must have their own set of clubs and a golf bag, or rent clubs from the ACGT.
  9. All players in the group must be registered at the golf counter before playing and have their green fee receipt. The ACGT reserves the right to assign players to a group in an effort to fill foursomes, and no five-some will be permitted on Saturday or Sunday before 12 pm. Fivesomes are allowed at the discretion of the Golf Course Manager, except where it is prohibited at Cedar Creek. A fivesome may be split up if falling behind pace.
  10. Jogging, bicycling, recreational walking, and walking or exercising pets are not permitted on any course during operational hours for safety and liability reasons.
  11. All food & beverage items on the course must be purchased from the concessions provided by the golf course.
  12. All play begins off the first tee unless otherwise directed by the golf staff. The golf course marshal has full authority on the golf course to enforce all rules and speed of play.
  13. Groups of two or three may be paired together as deemed appropriate by the facility. The course reserves the right to adjust tee times by up to 20 minutes from their originally reserved slot.
  14. Children under four are not allowed on the courses due to safety concerns, but they can practice at any of our driving range facilities.
  15. Players can have only one ball in play during their round. Practice on the course is prohibited, and guests must use designated areas to practice.
  16. Parking is permitted only in designated areas.
  17. No sleeveless shirts for men, nor bathing suits for women.
  18. In the case of excessive rain or any lightning, rain checks will be given on a prorated basis based on the number of holes played. Green Fees and Cart Fees are calculated separately. Rain checks expire 90 days from the issue date and are only valid at the course where issued. There are no cash refunds; only rain checks. Rain-checks are redeemable for a single use, and there is no change or remaining value left on a raincheck once used. No rain checks are issued for loyalty point rounds.
  19. No Pets Allowed.
  20. Players Club Pass Extensions: Passes can be temporarily paused or extended for medical reasons or military deployment only. Proof of medical reasons or military deployment may be requested for documentation purposes.

Golf Cart Policy

The Alamo City Golf Trail reserves the right to restrict or redirect golf cart traffic on all golf facilities. ACGT has implemented GPS “geofencing” at all of our facilities to limit cart access to sensitive areas or as conditions warrant. This policy ensures we can continue to provide the best possible playing conditions by preventing damage to the course and ensuring customer safety.

Please understand that golf cart traffic may adversely affect turf and playability. We appreciate your cooperation and your use of good judgment. Any use of carts off the cart path is at your own risk, and any problems or injuries resulting from such use are the golfer’s responsibility. For safety reasons, we strongly discourage using the golf cart on steep slopes or through tall grass. Natural, unmowed areas may be designated as environmentally sensitive; please avoid these areas with the golf cart.

Carts will not be allowed inside any roped-off areas. Course staff reserves the right to restrict all cart traffic in the rare instances when moisture, new turf, weather-related, or maintenance-related conditions create a safety issue or instances that would result in cart traffic causing damage to the course. On such days, the course in its entirety, or specific holes, will be designated as “Cart Path Only.” Par three holes are considered Cart Path Only at all times.

For the safety and enjoyment of all patrons, personal golf carts, bicycles, and battery-operated vehicles are strictly prohibited on the premises of Municipal Golf Association - San Antonio (dba The Alamo City Golf Trail). This includes but is not limited to privately owned golf carts, bicycles, Segways, electric scooters, and similar motorized or non-motorized conveyances. Only authorized golf carts provided by The Alamo City Golf Trail or its approved vendors, or grandfathered personal cart agreements, are permitted for use on the golf course. Any individual who violates this policy may be subject to immediate removal from the premises and may face legal action for trespass. By entering the premises of The Alamo City Golf Trail, all patrons agree to adhere to this policy and acknowledge that The Alamo City Golf Trail reserves the right to enforce it to ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals on the property.

Persons with Disabilities Designation

Golfers with disabilities, as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), may request clubhouse staff members for use of an ADA-designated golf cart. These carts allow a golfer to access restricted areas around greens and bunkers as course conditions warrant. Golfers using the ADA-designated carts are permitted to drive to within 30 feet of the greens, not to include collars and areas between greens and greenside bunkers/ponds/streams. Note: This does not include par three holes.

Violation of our golf cart policies may result in suspension of golf privileges.

NOTE: Please be advised that rules and regulations are subject to change without prior notice. Thank you for your understanding.
